Imagine going to work tomorrow and being greeted by your robot colleague. Sounds futuristic, doesn't it? But with the rise of AI and increasing automation of jobs, this is already a reality for some. Does this mean we are on the verge of a future where robots and machines completely take over our work? Not necessarily. The emergence of AI and advanced technologies is changing the way we work, but also offers new opportunities and challenges.
In this keynote, we delve deeper into the future of work in the AI era. We discuss how AI will change our jobs and how we can embrace these changes. But we also examine the hype around AI and how we can ensure that we seize the opportunities and do not ignore the potential downsides that need to be kept under control.
This keynote provides a fascinating glimpse into the future of work. We will explore the different ways in which AI can help us improve our skills, increase our productivity, and focus on tasks that truly fulfill us. Don't miss this inspiring session and learn how we can shape the future of work together!

Bumper Ballet is a bumper car track with the world's first self-driving bumper cars, created by Dutch new media art collective DROPSTUFF MEDIA.
Initially, the bumper cars function as normal as participants can drive the cars around the track. After a few minutes, the system takes over and both the steering wheel and the gas pedal no longer work. From that point on the cars perform a dance: a bumper car ballet in which the cars perform a choreography of movements. A self-learning system in combination with location tracking ensures that the cars always return to their original starting points. They move, collide and dance to the music and images of the dancingcars: an adaptation of a video from the '70s by the famous Dutch car company ‘DAF’.
Bumper Ballet playfully tackles the implications of current emerging autonomous technology. As participants become a direct subject to the cars, they experience first hand what it means to ‘lose control’ when the system takes over.

The world-first workshop “EARTH FROM SPACE”, includes a 30 minute multi-sensory VR space journey that combines state of the art VR technology and soundscapes to give the full immersive experience of a space flight. The VR experience is a multi-sensory threedimensional high definition space journey build on NASA’s Blue Marble data set.
The experience takes participants, after witnessing Earthrise on a voyage from the dark side of the moon towards the Earth. They then travel in orbit with breath taking views of our planet, in day light and during nights, watching the beauty of the oceans, the forests and the northern lights. But they also become aware of the fragility of our atmosphere and the devastating human actions that causes bushfires, melting of the glaciers and pollution of rivers and landscapes.
The Overview Effect provides leaders with new insights, a renewed sense of responsibility and a new planetary perspective. Common features of the experience are a feeling of awe for the planet, a profound understanding of the interconnection of all life, and a renewed sense of responsibility for taking care of the environment.
The impact of the Overview Effect goes beyond the personal to the social. Scientific research shows that it deepens the cognitive, emotional and spiritual connection with our Planet and so motivates conscious, sustainable and ecological leadership.

Mr Bart Wernaart has years of experience as a lawyer and lecturer in ethics at Fontys University of Applied Sciences. As a lecturer, he aims to build a bridge between technology, society and ethics. The emphasis is on individual morality, which can be used as input for design. By making our digital society more human, he wants to contribute to reducing the distance between individual and organisation. In this way, his professorship can contribute to more sustainable organisational practices in both the public and private domain.

AI is evolving rapidly and becoming more and more integrated into everything around us. Today we want to exchange thoughts with you about what your thoughts are on this. What dilemmas do we face, what is the ethical consideration, how do we preserve humanity, is progress even possible if all intelligence is based on history? So many people, so many ideas. There are 5 situations hanging on a flipchart in the room. Read them and stick post its with your thought, opinion, question, idea, criticism or consideration. Then we will meet in groups to discuss the situations and input with each other and exchange views. No single conclusion needs to emerge. The aim is to broaden your view and share your ideas.

You've probably seen it passing by recently. For over a year now, Fontys has had a knowledge centre dedicated entirely to artificial intelligence. With now 11 affiliated professorships from 9 different Fontys institutes - including, of course, Fontys ICT as the penning institute - we join forces in the Fontys Knowledge Centre Applied AI For Society (KC AI) in the field of research and knowledge sharing. Within the centre, multidisciplinary education, research and business come together and we work towards a future in which AI is used reliably, sustainably and safely and contributes to a positive impact on our society and professional practice. If you want to know more about what the knowledge centre does and what you can contribute to the mission of the KC AI visit us at the AI Expo of the Fontys ICT Festival!

This workshop will build on Mr Metaverse's keynote, reflecting in groups on practical applications of the technologies.
We will combine Web3/NFT/VR/AR and A.i., but we will also focus on ChatGPT.
During the Workshop, we will work towards 1 practical implementation per group, which will be developed and presented to a 'dragons den'.
Goal: show how these technologies can actually be applied today and go home with tools.

AI is the topic of the day. With the advent of tools like ChatGPT and Dall-E, anyone can start using it and it is no longer something that plays in the tech sector. But all this excitement is accompanied by many questions. What do we actually think AI should and should not do? Who controls AI? And who is responsible if AI makes mistakes?
In the Fontys AI Debate, a group of experts debated a series of propositions. Different disciplines came together and established that the answers to these questions are often not so easy at all. Moreover, AI holds up a mirror to us and what we see is not always pleasant. How do you stand in the debate? Watch along and find your answers... Or just more questions.
